Hi, I’m Nicola and I’m 21. I live in Essex, England with my mum, dad and older sister. In July 2008, I graduated with a 2:1 degree in English language and linguistics with creative writing from Roehampton University, south west London.
For the next year, I will be volunteering with a christian based charity called Oasis UK. From 6th October 2008 I will be living and working in Johannesburg, South Africa for just over 5 months. When I return to England in March, I will be based in Manchester, in the north west of England until August. This amazing adventure will be a challenge, both for me, and the Oasis team, because I am registered blind and have been since birth.
I became a Christian in April 2007, near the end of my second year of uni. Since then, God has been at the centre of my life and everything I do. I was confirmed in April 2008. Having been totally undecided about what I wanted to do when I finished uni, applying for a gap year seemed like a good idea. Incidentally, I still have no idea what I will do, but at least now I have an extra year to decide!
In my last year of uni, I took a worship leader’s course and am now a fully certified worship leader. I love playing the clarinet and singing. I really want to learn guitar as well!
I enjoy doing outdoor activities like climbing, swimming, water skiing and last Friday, I did my first ever tandom skydive!
I love spending time with my amazing boyfriend, Michael, and chilling out with friends.
blimy! Just found your blog on Darren’s facebook profile and thought I’d say Hi, and good luck! Luv, Erica
Great talk this morning! I wish you all the best for your time in S.A.

Best wishes
